Oh no! You, yes, you over there. You are part of a thing known as the Mega Man RPG Prototype. You know that the creator and leader of this buiseness is the one and only Adrian Marceau. But, wait, he's invited you to this odd, murky dungeon. With you and other people you may or may not know, you walk into the mansion. It's remarkable, it's beautiful, but, wait, something seems odd about it. The lights are turned off, and the curtains are pulled shut, there's a note on the ground:

Wow, this "Fellow Program" seems to have kidnapped Adrian! Will you be the one to save Adrian? Or will you just be a big weenie and run away home

Now, onto the rules of this hot mess
1. Sign Ups: Okay, this'll be a bit harsh I guess, but I'm still enforcing it. Only characters based off the user, like if you're Ender, your character will be based off of you. BUT, also, you can also use characters from Web Comics/Fanfics floating around this site, as long as they aren't official Mega Man characters. For example, do you want to be Rhythm_BCA's Melodia? Perhaps you'd like being EEKADO from Beta and Mega's comic? What about the fabled Moonstone from MusicalKitty's Megabound? What about [REDACTED] from SSN's game? BUT(t) here's a twist! IF these projects use an official Mega Man character, but are able to make them different to the official character, you can choose them. Pun-Loving Cut's Corner Cut Man and Short Alien Megabound Slur are on the table, however, Super-Fighting Robot BCA/Beta and Mega Mega Man is not on the table. Also, I will deny Non-Project fan characters like Blaze Man or Ninja Man on sight, and likely Official MM Characters that aren't featured in any projects like Fan or Drill Man, unless if you provide a good spin on them, like Emotionless-Killer Fan, or Renowned Mathematician Drill Man.

As of now, I'm starting to consider the use of OCs as player options in Mystery Mansion. I will accept OC characters, but as long as you give them a proper bio and at least something about their personality. If you need help with developing a character's personality, I know how to help:
So, this is only one little thing, but it does go a very long way. Don't describe what the character is, but more what the character does. For example, instead of "She likes animals" you can say "She regularly holds bake sales in order to fund repopulation projects for her favorite endangered animals."
And if you even want, this article by TVtropes may or may not help you out with your bio

2. Sign Up Bios: You must provide information about your character. Their personality, motives, likes and dislikes are good. You may go into more descriptive if you want. I can understand if you pick a character from like Megabound and you cannot provide a really big bio because of the character or whatnot. As for official characters you are willing to take a spin on, I expect a descriptive bio, and at least so it doesn't seem like all you did was make Mega Man green and slightly shorter.

3. Combat-ish system: Along with the Roleplay itself, there will also be a combat-ish system I guess. In your character bio, specify whether your play-style is Aggressive Assertive or Passive and the combat-ish system will be ultra simplified:


-There will only be three stats: Health, Charisma, and Attack There is now five stats! And I've gone into much more detail about these stats as well!

Health:
Health is what keeps the player moving. Health, as in most games, is a value used to calculate how much a player can take before giving out. Every player starts at 20 Base Health, but there are many ways that Health can be boosted:
1.) Being hit by an attack that inflicts more than 1 point of damage will increase the player's Max Health by 1!

2.) Eating different foods. Luxurious or event foods will usually increase the player's health by 10-20. Some more common foods may only boost Health by 2-5.

3.) Quests/Dungeons will also occasionally increase Health when completed.

When a player's Health reaches 0, the player is taken to the entrance of the mansion with one of their items stolen by SSJ3 the moose. However, the player can always try and bribe or persuade him to give the item back.

Charisma:
Charisma, however, may be proven to be a bit more difficult to explain. Charisma is used for many things, such as:
1.) Interacting with enemies. Players may find themselves interacting and conversing with enemies. They might have an item a player is interested in, or the player may be trying to convince them not to attack. The general calculation for if an enemy will listen is usually Charisma = % Chance. Some more stubborn enemies may follow Charisma/2 = % Chance.

2.) Merchant Discounts. Most of the items bought in Mystery Mansion are through the merchants. Charisma will act as a percentage discount to these goods, the equation is (Charisma/10 = % Discount) although the cap for said discount is at 50%

3.) Enemy Drops. Enemies, when defeated, will usually have a small chance to drop an item. These item drops will have a base drop rate, but said rate will be increased by Charisma. The equation for said act is [BaseDrop * (Charisma/10)] = NewDrop. Most item drops will be simply healing items or other trinkets, but in the rare case that the enemy will drop a weapon, it will usually have a base of around 0.1%

4.) Entering Dungeons. Sure, being able to slaughter through anything possible is fun, but if you do not have enough Charisma, your options for dungeons are limited. However, there are always an assortment of quests in places like the Garden, Floor 4, Outside and the Chef's Room. As said earlier, quests are rather quick and give a well amount of money and Charisma.

There are many ways to gain Charisma as well. Many Luxurious foods will raise Charisma, doing quests will give around 5-20 Charisma per quest, and simply befriending an enemy in-battle nets a base amount of 5. Finishing dungeons will even raise the player's Charisma stat as well, although it is possible to lower your Charisma as well, although the only few recorded times it happened in Mystery Mansion were through less conventional means, so no need to worry about randomly losing 15 Charisma if you bump into an enemy on accident.

Attack:
Attack is the stat used to determine the strength of attacks, as well as strength-based overworld actions (such as pushing a heavy rock, the equation for that would be Attack = % of success). The actual damage an attack will do is calculated by [Attack - Defense]. Defeating an enemy will always increase the player's attack, along with getting new weapons, and sometimes even eating Luxurious or event foods!

Immunity -Although players do not have the Immunity stat, some major enemies will have them. Immunity is simply just a defense stat for defense-piercing weapon-based attacks, no need to worry about the stat.

P.Defense:
P.Defense stands for Player Defense, and is the defense stat used when attacked by player characters. This stat was mainly added in so players have a harder time with killing each other as easy as a 1000 C hot knife through soft butter. Player Defense can be increased by using items (such as the disposable equipment such as knives or ribbons that provide a +10 stat boost) and by getting hit by another player character as well will increase it by 5. Don't worry though, the mansion is a rather peaceful place and there will never be a 24/7 fear of being knocked out by other players.

N.Defense:
N.Defense stands for eNcounter Defense, and is the defense stat used when attacked by enemies. N.Defense is a rather hard stat to upgrade, only really being able to be increased by high level merchants on the higher floors of the mansion, or taking up any quests that involve creating an armor.

I'll also explain the three Play styles as well:
Aggressive Starting stats: Attack: 85 Charisma: 35
A play style for those who don't really want to befriend any encounters in the mansion, and just fight them. I should note that just because you pick an Aggressive play style, you aren't prohibited from befriending encounters.

Assertive Starting stats: Attack: 60 Charisma: 60
A play style for those that cannot choose between Aggressive or Passive, or want to be able to have the options to effectively kill or befriend encounters.

Passive Starting stats: Attack: 35 Charisma: 85
A play style for those who want to befriend the encounters in the mansion. I shall note that I will try to make the three play styles as equal as possible in terms of difficulty

4. Literary Roleplaying- Yes, I know that this'll be hard for me to explain unless if I do this, so:
Case A: "He flirts with the encounter, attempting to compliment its looks
Case B: "*flirts with encounter*"
I'd rather you to do this in the style of Case A. Write this as if you are writing a story, and please make your posts longer than three words.

@Pixel23 : Pixel decided to head upstaird from the Chef's Room to Floor 2, avoiding making any eye contact with anyone on the way there.

Floor 2 was simply a long hallway with five or so doors leading to other rooms. In the lobby was the [Robot Assist and Battlechip Merchant,]{electic} with a kiosk filled with the small, trading card-like chips.

Doors
Laundry Room- Often has bits of Zenny and upgraded Zenny Radars lying around. It's been long abandoned though, and those who enter it might be attacked by a weak opponent.

Fat Dragon's Dungeon- Not really a dungeon, but more of a room that the Fat Dragon sleeps in. He guards Adrian's collection of inhalers, and will let visitors go fishing in the small lake in his dungeon.

Staircase - Leads to Floor 3

Mr. Baudelaire's Room- The Mansion's accountant. He's a lynx that works from 9 to 5 and loves his job more than he loves his own child. People can deposit Zenny into his bank and will get a small (4%) interest on it per turn.

Garden - Leads to the Garden. It has a ton of free food and is one of the more peaceful parts of the Mansion. It is currently blocked by Storung and Charon, who seem to be talking to a Pelican. If he really wanted to, Pixel could sneak around the group and enter the Garden.

NPCs
Dancer Ghost- Is sitting on a bench in the lobby, talking with another Dancer Ghost
Electric Fox- Is rolling on the carpet, trying to build up a charge.
Old Man- Is sitting on another bench, complaining about today's youth.

@Capejedi : As Cape grabbed the Broken Fan, something snapped in his mind. Cape had realized a new stat: I.Q!

I.Q: I.Q is a stat used for fixing broken items, such as the Broken Fan, and using it to the player's benefit. I.Q may also be used to determine the damage or success rate of fixable items. It can be raised either by fixing broken items, bartering or haggling with other merchants or players, or defeating an intelligent enemy.

Cape currently has an I.Q stat of 5, and can fix the Broken Fan.

Charon emerged from her pod and landed on the ground. When she looked to see her pod, it was caught in some trees and everything around it was on fire. Charon knew that this was a bad thing, not only because everything was on fire, but everyone in the Garden was watching her as well. They didn't seem to notice the fire too much, except for a child who just looked to the fire and said: "Nice."

Fortunately for the alien, Charon knew a Psychic technique that could get rid of the fire. With a bit of concentration, Charon cast PK NeptuneWave α! [-3 PP]

NeptuneWave

Similar to a high tide, a low, lazy wave of water emerged onto the scene. It was able to successfully put out the fire, leaving only two or three trees severely damaged.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, Charon caught sight of a German twink talking to a pelican. Of course, Charon probably didn't know that, and only knew that it was a man talking with an avian creature. After a few minutes of reassuring to herself, Charon hovered over to him, and shyly greeted

@Charchar : Storung! Storung was being ravaged by the rabid pelican (probably,) and was greeted by this new creature. She didn't seem too harmful, and didn't really have any weapons on her, which meant that she most likely wouldn't attack Storung. The Kinky Pelican, however, decided to greet Charon, using his seduction skills.

"Are you wearing space pants? Because, uhh, you have nice legs~" he then pointed finger guns at Charon.

What will you do next?

Acknowledging what the, smaller, winged creature had just said to her, she seemed a bit flustered, even if the flirt was... Well, absolutely terrible, she turned to leave, but didn't want to seem unsociable... So she turned back around and looked back down at the avian creature.

"I-I Um... T-Thank you, small... Avian c-creature. So uh..." She paused for a second, then finally managed to mutter something else out... "B-But what are you trying to d-do... Is it that thing called, f-flirting? If so, i'm not really interested in a, "relationship" as you... W-Whatever you are, call it, really i'm n-not looking forward to anything, i'm just looking for directions to the nearest s-space station... Please?" She asked for directions, shyly responding to the, terrible, terrible attempt at flirting, not knowing how to 'flirt' or really 'respond'

Pausing again, for another moment, she remembered the other creature, er, 'two-legger' near her, seemingly less, featureless as she would call it, no tail, no ability to hover, and wearing some... Strange over coat? She shot back up, in response to remembering the second 'two-legger'. "O-Oh! I Almost forgot about you... So s-sir, do you have any idea, of well... Where I am, what, p-planet, place... J-Just any information will do, sir." She tried seeming formal.

Upon seeing the garden on fire, Storung SCREAMED-but quickly cupped his hands over his mouth to muffle his man screams
After a few minutes of standing still in pure terror, and possibly gaining the attention of everyone there, he soon regained his composure and turned towards Charon.
The more he looked at Charon, the more confused he became. Who and what is this...lady? And what is she doing here? HOW did she get here? Did she steal that pod? IS SHE GOING TO KILL STORUNG??
The last question though was soon answered, Storung saw no weapons on the woman, and she's probably too scared to try to commit murder.

Storung listened to Charon's attempts to reason with the Kinky Pelican, and couldn't help but chuckle. It was absolutely adorable in his eyes. It was like a child with anxiety trying to order food at a restaurant, or a child lying to their parents about that thing they totally didn't do but really did.
Storung decided to respond to Charon, despite his confusion (and overwhelming suspicions)

awe"Ah...Well dear, to put it simply: you're on Earth~" He spoke softly in an attempt to not startle her, "While I, personally, don't know exactly what this whole place is, I can safely assure you that there is no danger here~"
"Well, at least, I don't think there is..."

After a bit of awkward silence, he spoke once more.

so smug"Oh, and sir is a tad too formal, don't you think, sweetheart?" He brushed some hair out of his face, "Just call me Störung, darling~"

She looked a bit... Flustered, when Storung responded, as she wasn't expecting much of a response... She looked at the man, noticing how much taller he is then her, she didn't seem to know what to say... "I-I Um... Ur-th? U-Ur... Urth? Earth?" She seemed to have a bit of trouble pronouncing that, she also seemed to be thinking about the location she is in herself...
"I-I Don't know what's with the formalities Sir Storu-... Er, I mean S-Storung. I Feel like I was taught to use them for..." She thought again, then shook her head. "I-I Don't remember much of anything... Just... One image..." She thought about it again, that one, small child, in what seemed to be a crib, rocking back and forth, in a rocky place... A Cave? She shook her head again, deciding not to continue being silent...

"S-So uh... N-Nice to meet you, Storung, it's... Charon? Y-Yea, Charon... It's the only thing I remember currently... And..." She looked around shyly for a minute, whispering something to herself, seemingly reassuring herself. "Do you t-think we can maybe... Try to figure this out together, for a w-while... I Just don't feel the best being by myself not after... Well... Whatever h-happened... However I got here... I Just feel like I should go with you, I d-do sense some sort of... Power w-within you."

You know, that sorta stuff... As for ones like... Me I guess... We can only r-read the minds of lesser beings, or others, you could s-say... N-No i'm not saying you're below me by the way!" She covered her face, looking a little flustered. "Also, er... S-Suppose mine seems a bit different... It's called PSI... PK for short, it's uh... Psi-on-ics, was it, and uh... Psy-cho-kin-es-is for.. PK? I-I Don't know where I know this but... I D-Do?" She looked back up at Storung, and got a sudden idea, more like... 'close examination'. She hovered about up to the height of Storung, and hovered around him, eyeing his features, to examine what he is, not knowing much about who or what he is... Maybe, getting a bit to touchy with his, er, hair as well, feeling it, thinking it feels kinda silky and soft, fluffy, and whatever else she knew how to describe it as.

She jolted back in response, not expecting to be touched, realizing what she was doing. "O-Oh dear! S-Sorry, got a little..." She grabbed his hand. "Carried away with y-your body... W-Wait no... Carried away w-with checking you out... W-Wait no! Carried away with examining you, trying to f-figure out what you a-are!"
She jolted back again, looking more flustered, unsure of what she was even saying anymore. "J-Just forget it! Forget I s-said anything, okay!" She seemed to be boiling, little jolts of electricity, like being flustered triggered a little spark in her, she sighed, and calmed down, and stopped emitting jolts of electricity.
"S-Sorry just... S-Sorry, it's been so long since I had contact with... A-Anything... I still continue to ponder why i'm here i'm just... Would it b-be better if I leave, Storung, i'm just... I Don't feel 'myself'. Like i'm forgetting something, everything, how I was, who I knew, how I acted... I Just... can't seem to act right anymore."

@NiceIce : Storung ignored her 'checking you out' comment. While, normally, he would laugh and make a little joke out of it; Charon probably wouldn't take it too well, and get even MORE flustered and embarrassed than she already is.

He mumbled to himself in German, his face turning a bit red as he did so. God, this is embarrassing, forgetting words as you speak with someone? Dang it Storung, you idiot.

After inhaling and panicking a bit, she calmed down, and got a stern look on her face. "I'm not very sure that could happen, going home, recovering memories... Who knows how we will get anywhere, how could we go into the cosmos, and go to, what I suppose would be, the outer depths of space... The planets... I've always felt a deep feeling resonating within them... Let's just..." She sighed.
"Just. Stay determined, I suppose, and we might... Get somewhere." She seemed a bit more comfy with Storung, or just a burst of self-confidence, for she started thinking yet again, reminding herself about how hopeless she is, and how she feels about absolutely everything. "E-Especially the aura around this specific, er... P-Palace?" She doesn't seem to have heard of a mansion, hell, even KNOW what that is. "I-I Suppose I might find something in here that can lead to something... So uh... Hope you don't mind if I do this. M-Maybe i'll just..." She awkwardly, inches a bit close to Storung and... Holds his hand? Being a bit unsure, not to mentioned frightened about the new location she's in, she hid behind Storung, while still holding their hand.

She yelped a bit, at being picked up, but didn't actually mind at all. "S-Small? I-I Mean... Yea i'm s-smaller than normal. N-Not the tallest... Gieeg? Gieeg! T-That's it! That's w-what I am!" She remembered the name of her species, possibly something to do with the mansion, and it's power, she senses in it. "...I've... Never seen one of my own kind actually. I-I Don't know if I even will but... That's besides the point, f-friend!" She shivered a bit, still nervous, calling Storung their friend. "W-We can do it! We can d-do whatever we need to do, whatever bothers you, whatever you need to do here, w-we can just do what's needed, and what's r-right!" She seemed confident yet again, a little spark in her eyes, ready to advance through the mansion, taking down, and talking with enemies!

@Pixel23 : As Pixel walked into Mr. Baudelaire's room, he saw a small, dully colored office room. The room was painted a mint green, and had many photographs of Mr. Baudelaire with his family going on various vacations. In front of Pixel was a long wooden desk with a lynx in suit attire sitting on top of it. He was at a typewriter, starting to knead at the keys as he continued typing. Mr. Baudelaire didn't seem to hear Pixel as he greeted to him, and replied to Pixel with about a one minute delay.
"Huh? Oh, right now I'm writing an essay about examples of economic inflation in virtual simulations to present to Adrian, but I've been starting to get hungry..." Mr. Baudelaire then looked over to a small stack of papers on his desk, grabbed them with his paws, and started to organize them by color and expiration date. "Hey, there's a Lion Merchant downstairs that only accepts paper for the stuff he sells. I'm giving you this entire stack of business papers and I'll let you keep the change if you could go downstairs and get me a Cream-Filled Donut and Blended Coffee?" Mr. Baudelaire gave Pixel 25 Papers

As Rotom tried scanning for secret areas, he had received a notification!

-There is a small, golden trap door on Floor 1 that leads to another basement area, similar to the Cat Village. However, the trapdoor requires a password to open up. Fortunately, the trapdoor has a Cryptic Hangman programmed into it: a weak enemy that will only be defeated when given the password (via the game, hangman). It gives clues to the password, but severely punishes the player for incorrectly guessing the word.

Eventually, the conversation between Storung and Charon seemed to annoy the Kinky Pelican. He was slightly angery and just decided to storm away, leaving two pieces of Plain Cheesecake on the ground for Storung and Charon to take.
The two might have thought that was the end of their encounter with the pelican... until they heard a loud screECH coming from the Kinky Pelican's direction. He then started flying back into the garden as fast as possible, screaming at the top of his lungs as he tried batting what looked like an otter off of him.
"Please get off of me, I have a family I need to take care of!" the Kinky Pelican cried, but his pleads for mercy seemed to fail, as the otter started trying to gnaw the Kinky Pelican's face off. Eventually, the pelican was able to toss the otter off of his face and flew into the forest as fast as he possibly could, sobbing to himself from the physical, mental, and emotional health damage that was inflicted upon him.

As the otter was tossed onto the grass, he started to roll around in said grass until he ran into Storung. He got up and smiled up to the German adult and the extraterrestrial child before him.
Lovely Otter "Wow! Hello there! I haven't seen you here before! My name is Owen!" Owen shook Storung and Charon's hands vigorously. The otter seemed very happy to meet the two, although he probably had made a bad first impression from assaulting an innocent pelican before their eyes. Owen then looked up to Storung, staring into his soul eyes.
Lovely Otter "I don't mean to bother you and your... daughter... granddaughter? ... But I think I have lost my father. We were just walking in the garden, and either I wandered off or he just disappeared. Could you help me find him?" Poor Owen wouldn't be able to survive one night outside. He'd need someone to help him get back to his father.
